Day 5 of the VincentClark dot com blog, and all appears to be going well. With rebuilding the VincentClark family of sites I have been researching and looking at a bunch of different technologies and how they interact together. WordPress has proved to be the best “homepage” solution. I am currently looking at Google’s Picasa to be the main photo share site, however, I have not looked too much into WordPress’s photo blog capabilities. Since the blog is being hosted on my 1and1 server, it might be best to put a bulk of the heavy lifting with the photos on a third party site, but time will tell to see which is the best solution.
Currently the most impressive feature I have found with WordPress is the separation of the data, structure and style, which is something I champion in everything I do. Before I make a full investment in the software in the concept, I need to test out the ability to backup the posts and transfer them to another median. This shouldn’t take too long and we should be doing full, engaging posts within the next week.
