I am watching a Pizza Hut commercial and I am not sure who at Pizza Hut I should contact to tell them that Rome is not in Tuscani. To gain aproval for their Tuscani pasta going to Rome to see if you can fool them is similar to taking KFC to a soul food resturant in Des Moines Iowa in order to prove how authentic it is. It make sense to me however, I am not sure it makes sense to everyone else. It isn’t the commercial that irritates me as much as it is the lack of knowledge.
Pizza Hut’s live commercials are just as obnoxious as Carl’s Jr live commercials, which is probably because the live Coke Zero commercial went well. However, pay some kid $50.00 and let him do some fact checking before you spend a hundered grand on a location shoot in Rome becuase the marketing person wants to go shopping. How do I know this? It is simple, there are not the shopping opritunities in Florence or in other areas that are acutally Tuscany, where the commercial should be shot. Florence is four hours out of Rome, which means there is no more a chance to have the marketing to go visit statue of David while shooting in Rome than there is of the marketing brain to go to Rome to shop. A subtle hint of priorities. A total lack of quesitioning when signing the budget equals irrisponisibility. I am sure the brain was complained about the banking bailout saying that her tax dollars should not be spent bailing out irrisponsibility, all while she is sitting comfortably in first class. I am sure she wil have spent her bonus on shoes or a nice bag or two come home in first class to her SUV and when gas is $4.50 again she will be complaining about the price of gas too. I only hope that her irrisponsibility catches up with her. I think a day of reconing is coming in which the excutives of corprate America will need to own up to what they have done.
Not all executives are bad and guilty, however some are, and they need to be removed before they cause any more damage be it for the banks or for Pepsi Co.
